Another great idea to keep your pipes from freezing is to use a trouble light with a 75-watt bulb and insert it underneath the RV in a hole you create between the bottom of the rig and the flooring.
RV Doctor House Call #1: Refrigerator Needs New Circuit Board

The RV Doctor meets an RVer having problems with their refrigerator. It has not been running on AC only on gas and needs a new circuit board. Gary helps her install the new circuit board.

    Materials and Tools:

    circuit board
    contact cleaner
    screw dirver

    1. Shut off the gas, unplug the refrigerator and disconnect the 12V AC.

    2. Disconnect the multi-plug harnesses from the old circuit board.

    3. One wire at a time, pull the wire from the old circuit board and install on the new one in the corresponding terminal. Note the terminal code when disconnecting the old.

    4. Use a contact cleaner on each wire connection on the new board to minimize corrosion.

    5. Connect the 12 V DC wires to the terminal block.

    6. Plug the 120 V outlet and switch to AC mode.

    7. Check the refrigeration unit.

RV Doctor House Call #2: Bed Gearing and Slipped

The RV Doctor helps an RVer with problems in the bedroom. Specifically her bed gearing for lowering the bed has slipped slightly causing a tilting affect when the bed is fully lowered. Gary imparts a tip for getting the level back to normal.

    Tool:

    Putty knife or flat-blade trowel

    1. Place a putty knife or flat blade trowel on the track that is off and jam it between the two gears.

    2. Use the motor to lower the bed so that the entire gear is on the flat blade.

    3. When fully on the blade retract the bed and manually left up the bed as the gear is going up.

    4. Once level slide the flat blade out and the gear will pop back into place.
