Selecting an RV to RentWhen choosing a rental RV, remember to keep the following in mind: - Your family's personal needs such as sleeping arrangements, cooking facilities, etc.
- Inquire if the rental company will take you through an RV class, demonstrating all the features of the rig--as well as a driving tutorial.
- A light-weight travel trailer sleeps four and has the basics, including a bath.
- A Class A motorhome sleeps six, rents for approximately $1,500 a week and are the top of the line in amenities.
- A Class C motorhome sleeps six to eight people and most come with slide-outs.
Tips: - Make sure you reserve your RV well in advance to ensure you get the type you want.
- There is also no special licensing needed for driving an RV.
- Motorhomes are available to rent in three different sizes with weekly rentals ranging from $900 to $1,500--and daily rentals from $150 to $340.
- One recommendation from a seasoned RV veteran is for first-timers to start with something on the small size (the 20- to 25-foot range). He also suggests that first-time Rver's start with a motorhome instead of a trailer because they are more similar to a regular automobile when driving.
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground in Orlando, Fla., offers 694 RV sites and most sites have full hookups.
