A viewer had a question about a '91 Dodge Caravan. When her gas tanks gets down to half tank, the engine sputters and dies. The fuel pump has been replaced and rechecked for pressure.
If you have replaced the fuel pump and filter and go inside the tank, there is a sock (pickup) (figure A) and it is located in the base of the tank. It looks more like a plastic filter or mesh. It can get clogged up and get to a point where it has a restricted area.

You should check not only for pressure of the system, but also for volume. Shops can hook up a gauge (figure B) and determine the pressure, and they can also check for volume as well. Whether you are dealing with stop-and-go driving or highway driving, you have pressure but volume can get restricted under some driving conditions. Therefore, the sock at the pickup needs to be checked and you need to make sure you have the right volume of pressure coming from your electrical fuel pump.
