Ford Motor Company issued a technical service bulletin suggesting you change the fuel filter on your truck every 15,000 miles. That is because the nature of gas is changing.
You need to check your tire pressure (figure A) once a month because outside temperature changes can cause the tire pressure to change. Check the door placard in the doorjamb or it could be in the glove box for the correct tire pressure. Check your spare tire at the same time.

Figure B
Make sure your gas cap is in good shape and that it fits tight. One hundred and forty seven million gallons of gas is evaporated every year from improper fuel caps.
Air filters are the lungs of your vehicle, so you need to make sure they are in good shape -- they are the number one reason for poor fuel economy.
Last, you need to check your ignition system. This includes the distributor cap (figure B), your spark plug wires and spark plugs -- make sure the gap is right.
