Repairing a Dash for a Restored Car- The easy solution would be a form fitted plastic dash cover. They are available from automotive mail order shops or from your local auto parts store. It is basically a vacuum formed piece of plastic that snaps on over the dash.
- A better solution is to send it off to a dash restoration company. They will strip the old vinyl off, make repairs to the foam padding underneath and then vacuum form a new covering on it, like the original that was manufactured.
- If you just have small cracks and want to repair them yourself, there are dashboard repair kits available at your auto parts store. Just make sure that you read all the directions carefully. Or, you can send in the color of your dash and some after market companies actually have the paint that will match your dash.
