Wildcard Questions Concerning Stereos

• Bad speaker. To replace a speaker in the rear of your vehicle if you don't have access from the trunk, you can access them from above. You would need to remove your rear seat of your vehicle first.

  
  

• Remove the screws from the back deck cover and carefully remove it, then you just remove the screws that are holding the speaker in place. Remove the speaker (figure A) and then you are ready to replace it.

  
  

• Positive and negative terminals. It is a simple task to determine which terminal is the positive and which is the negative when hooking up car speakers that aren't labeled. Take a standard 9-volt battery and connect it with a pair of wires to the speaker (figure B). If the speaker cone pushes out, then you have a positive to positive and negative to negative. If the speaker pushes in, then you have reverse polarity.
