Repairing Ripped Leather on Car Upholstery

• The leather repair kits you can purchase do not work all that great. Some repair places will repair the leather by gluing together the split and spray over it with a vinyl paint. Over a length of time, it does not look good at all.

• You can go to a craft store and purchase gel type quick drying glue and apply it into the split (figure A). Allow the proper time for it to dry completely.

• Once it is completely dry, take some sand paper and smooth it out.

• The final step is to spray it with a leather cleaner and shine it up.

• If you don't want to attempt to repair the split yourself, you can take it to a professional leather repair shop. They can repair just a section of the seat instead of repairing the entire seat.
