  • Scion TC: Autocross Suspension Multi-Upgrade
  • Before Andrew Totolos is done with this Scion TC, it'll corner like a 911 and grip track pavement like flypaper.

Project Overview: Why a Suspension Upgrade?

This Scion owner wants to flex his driving skills at autocross. In its current form, the Scion performs well on the open road, but its turning and cornering performance are no match for the track.

To solve the problem, Andrew Totolos intends to stiffen up the chassis by adding a front strut tower bar and tie the rear-end suspension together with a stiffer sway bar that will take care of body roll.

To take the performance one better, Andrew will increase the foot print left by the Scion's tires by adding a front and rear adjustable camber kit. This will allow custom adjustment of the camber, using a special gauge, to make this car street-ready or track-ready at the driver's option.

As part of this project , we also adjust the alignment. Proper alignment is an important safety consideration no matter what the driving situation, but it's particularly critical for the high demands placed on a vehicle in performance-oriented and competitive driving.
