The project car: Mitsubishi Evolution 8
In this Tricked Out project, host Andrew Totolos installs a high-tech security system into a sport compact rocket ride — the Mitsubishi Evo-8. The alarm system also incorporates a pager that alerts the owner to potential tampering, wireless entry and remote start — which, until recently, was not feasible on a manual-transmission vehicle.

Andrew also offers tips on ways in which, for a cost of next-to-nothing, you can help protect your ride against theft. Finally, he shows how to change out your trunk lock so that it's keyed separately from your ignition. In that way, you can leave your ignition key with a valet with confidence that the contents of your trunk remain secure.

The Evo sits tight on powder coated factory wheels and lowered sport springs, and it stops quick with big factory binders all of the way around.

Tinted windows provide a cool, concealed cockpit for the passengers, who enjoy factory designer sport seats, an upgraded stereo system, and an amp and sub box in the trunk to pump up the bass. Under the hood, a powder coated valve cover adds a touch of custom color, and air flows freely through the cylinders thanks to a cold air intake.
