In this project, Tricked Out host Andrew Totolos gets a Honda S2000 prepped for autocross events with a four-point roll bar, an upgraded racing harness setup and stiffened stabilizer bar to straighten out the curves on the track. This particular car already has its fair share of mods, but the owner is ready to start taking his street car to amateur autocross events, so he'll need some specialized safety equipment. We help him out by installing a four-point roll bar along with a set of upgraded racing harnesses. While we're under the car tightening up the roll bar mounts, we throw in a performance adjustable stabilizer bar to hold the tight corners of the autocross circuits.

Materials/tools for all modifications in this project:In addition to standard auto-mechanic's tools (wrenches, ratchets, extenders, screwdrivers, nut-drivers, cordless drill, torque wrench, etc.), tools and materials used to complete this entire project include: 4-point roll bar 4-point racing harnesses adjustable front stabilizer bar floor jack jack stands and wheel chocks rotary tool drill with bits standard shop tools felt pen utility knife backing plates vice grips masking tape cardboard tape measure paint marker pipe thread tape DIY Difficulty Rating for This Project: We gave this a difficulty rating of 3 on a 5-point intermediate-level scale. All of the new parts just bolt right on, but you'll be working all around and under the car to get the job done. Safety Alert: If you decide to take on this project, be certain to use a reliable lift or a floor-jack and jack-stands rated to the weight of your vehicle. Wheel chocks are another essential safety item if you're using jack stands.
The Project Car: Honda S2000 For this project, we're working with a Honda S2000-- a top of the line performance car from Honda boasting 240 horsepower and rear-wheel drive in a sleek roadster body.
The owner has added some spice to this little convertible with front bumper lip, a carbon fiber hood jdm style signals complete the theme up front while In the rear,. on the 17" wheels.
Under the hood this 2- liter aluminum inline 4 -cylinder engine revs to a heart stopping 9000 rpm. The owner has upgraded the factory system with a cold-air intake to bring in dense air. Spent gasses exit through a lightweight stainless steel exhaust.
The S2000's interior was designed to create a fusion between driver and car through simplicity and comfort, but the owner of this one has sacrificed some comfort for control by installing a set of racing seats and harnesses.
In an earlier Tricked Out project we installed a power adjustable carbon fiber wing and retractable canards to keeps this hot Honda firmly planted at track events. Those modifications are detailed in Tricked Out episode 307. An upgraded shift knob doubles as the remote for the power adjustable rear wing. A hidden control panel activates the retractable canards at the push of a button.
