    Host John Greviski offers a great battery charge option for boaters who don't want to worry with overcharging the battery: solar chargers.

    Solar powered chargers trickle a charge to the battery using a series of photocells (figure A). Once the battery is charged the solar charger shuts off.

    To install a solar charger, connect the positive lead to the positive terminal and negative lead to the negative terminal. Next, lay the solar panel in an area that will receive sunlight (figure B).
