The Project Car: 2004 Nissan 350Z

Some people say this rendition of Nissan's Z is the closest match to the pure sports-car concept and design of the original Z-cars. With it's radical looks, rear-wheel drive and 287 stock horses under the hood, procuring one of these modern-day rice rockets is a nice upward move for the tuner who's been running uber-modded Civics or 240's.

Hot metallic blue paint covers this no-nonsense base model Z, and stylish 17-inch rims keep the car in solid contact with the ground.

Inside, the compact cockpit is utilitarian but well designed with nice finishes, and all of the controls are placed easily within the driver's reach.

Under the hood, a 3.5 liter V6 pumps out about 287 horsepower at the crank shaft. Spent gasses exit out of the stock dual tip exhaust.

Tricked Out Pro Tip: What's Good for the Z. . .

It's worth noting that the 350Z shares it's engine and drive train with Infiniti's G35 and FX 35 SUV, so these mods should offer similar benefits on those vehicles as well.
