    Materials:

    14/2 copper tinned wire
    Butt connector
    Crimping tool
    Fuse

    1. Cut a length of 14/2 copper tinned wire.

    2. Take the red lead to the hot lead coming off the back of the stereo, and then connect with butt connectors (figure A).

    3. Crimp the connectors.

    4. Add in-line to the five-amp fuse.

      Tip: to determine how many amps a fuse should be, take the amperage the unit draws and increase it by 20 percent.

    5. Hook up the in-line with the hot lead.

    6. Take the hot lead to the terminal block.

    7. Connect the green wire on the stereo to the black wire on the 14/2 wire, and then connect it to the ground block.
