Materials and tools:standard shop tools computer harness and computer oil New Engine Test - It's always best to test the engine before you put the clip back on, so in case of problems you won't have to take rip it back off.
- First, plug the harness right into the control unit. Attach all of the starter leads to the starter. In this case, they're labeled, so there's not much to it.
While Andrew tightens the leads, Christie plugs the computer harness into the colored key ports on the computer. - Once the computer is plugged in, Christie attaches a ground strap to the body and connects it to the engine, along with another strap that runs to the frame.
- Once the grounds are secured, temporarily install the factory air cleaner assembly.
- Connect the mass airflow sensor, the manifold air pressure vacuum line, and the air temperature sensor before adding on the home base diffuser that will neaten things up and quiet the intake system.
- While Christie works on the intake system, Andrew connects the ignition and starter wires to the battery.
- Add a few quarts of oil to bring up the levels.
- Now you're ready to test-fire the engine.
