Materials and Tools:

5" slabs of and oak tree trunk
2 saw horses
1 quart of clear polyurethane
2" latex paint brush
1 roller paint brush
Metal paint tray

1. Place the tree trunk slabs atop of two saw horses so that they are stable.

2. Remove excess dust from the slab surface by sweeping with the latex brush.

3. Next, pour polyurethane into metal paint tray. Use the roller brush to roll a thin layer of polyurethane over the stump's surface.

4. Allow the first coat to dry thoroughly, then roll on two or three additional coats, until wood is sealed.
