We turned plain glass jars into wedding favors that also served as table centerpieces and table assignments. To make the favors, the recycled jars are filled with evergreen saplings, then decorated with pretty paper and twine. A tag is attached with the name of the guest and their table number on one side, and on the other side of the tag is instructions on how to plant and care for the little tree.
hot glue gun and glue sticks
scissors and a hole punch
recycled glass jars (larger sizes if possible)
evergreen plugs or small plants
2 to 3 different kinds of ribbons
clear glass marbles
brown cardstock paper
Add potting soil to the jars and then insert the evergreen plant and more soil to top it off. Clean the excess soil from the outside of the jar.
