This beach-friendly wreath took little time and money to make. An old bike wheel was adorned with coral and starfish. You can dress your wreath with almost anything – use your imagination.
wrench
hot glue gun
sewing needle
scissors and garden cutters
salvaged bicycle rim
coral fans (10 to 12)
large starfish (3)
tacky spray
blue and silver spray paint
silver and clear glitter
clear thread
Unbolt the sprocket cluster, take off the bolts that stick out and leave the hub. Clean the bicycle rim.
Spray coral fans silver and let dry. Then spray them with tacky spray and sprinkle silver glitter all over them. Tip: Go heavy on the glitter because some will come off.
Use scissors or garden shears to cut bottoms off coral fans so you can tuck them under the sprockets. Cut the coral fans to create your display. (You may have to re-glitter the fans a little.)
Once in place, gently turn the rim around and glue underside (back of sprocket) to hold the coral fans in place.
Spray tacky glue on the starfish. Sprinkle them with a clear glitter, then glue on top of the coral fans.
Place all three and glue underneath. If you feel that glue will not be enough, then use the sewing needle and clear thread to secure starfish and coral fans to the back of the spokes.
