To make a building-block hat rack, you’ll need: 1-1/2” square wood building blocks; a used lamp or pedestal base; a 7/8”-thick wood dowel 48” long; a 7/16”-thick dowel for hat rack pegs 20” long; a 4” rectangular block of wood; wood screws; a cordless drill or drill press; 7/8 and 7/16 drill bits; and a handsaw.
