Tools and Materials

To make a basket you will need: a minimum of nine receiving blankets (or approximately nine yards of fabric. The more blankets, the bigger the basket. Flannel preferred.); heavy-duty scissors; a yarn darner needle (long, heavy-duty needles with large eyes); crochet thread; at least 9 feet of plastic cording or recycled cable cord (approx. 1/4" wide, that is tough yet bendable); and pins.
