Headboards can be hard to make. Not this one. If you’re not comfortable cutting wood, or don’t have the tools, have the hardware store cut the wood to size. The rest is easy. Here’s what you’ll need to make this headboard: a rug (approx. 5’ x 7’); (6) 1x4 x 6’ pine; (2) 1x4 x 8’ or (1) 1x8 x8’ pine; 1 box of cut tacks (size #14 – 3/4"); (4) 1-1/2" corner braces; 2-1/2” wood screws; paint in the color of your rug (sample size); drill gun and bits; chop saw; table saw; measuring tape; framing square; level and a hammer.
