Welcoming Cocoon

Passage through double glass doors in the air lock leads into the open and welcoming foyer with immediate views of Lake Coeur d’Alene. “It’s a little bit like you come through this cocoon on the way in and you open up to this spectacular 280 degree view,” says design coordinator Laurie March.

Earthy Color Scheme

Olive green walls and rustic wood elements combine for a charming prelude to the earthy color scheme found throughout the home.

Accents of Wood

A stacked shoe rack keeps shoes up and out of the way. Burned matches juxtaposed against copper deliver an original work of art inspired by the local history.

The Gem State

An Idaho state cut out fashioned from the original chimney adorns the foyer wall leading into the great room and is one of the many dispersed tributes to the home’s location.

Organic Art

Wood grain artwork celebrates the natural landscape as an inspiration for the home and invites those who enter to rest on a cozy bench.

Majestic Lake Views

Sweeping views of Lake Coeur d’Alene enchant those who enter the home through large windows that span the length of the opposite wall. “The wall of windows is painted that really light creamy color on purpose because that view is everything,” says Laurie. “If we had darkened that wall it would take away from that view.”

Warm and Inviting

Directly to the left of the foyer, a large slate fireplace invites guests to relax and enjoy scenic views.

Open Staircase

A wide staircase leads directly down to the lower level, splitting the mezzanine and leaving a powerful first impression upon entering the home with unobstructed lake and mountain views.

Industrial Railing

To the right of the staircase, a central walkway connects the core of the home to the expansive wraparound porch.

Open View

Three toned iron railings that wrap around the mezzanine are exceptionally durable, while the hand rails are sanded and waxed multiple times for added smoothness and comfort. “It’s so lovely when people pay attention to the things that you touch,” says Laurie. “It’s a nice layered look that feels substantial, so parents could feel comfortable knowing that you could hit this thing with a ton of bricks and it’s not going anywhere.”

A Moment of Solitude

A quiet and cozy sitting area occupies the central walkway leading to the wraparound porch and takes advantage of gorgeous views.

Natural Artwork Echoes Lake Views

A series of painted hemlock boards mimic the surrounding scenery and serve as a prelude of what is to come upon stepping out onto the wraparound porch.

Grand Entrance

Leading into the master bedroom, a wood cladded wall and slate fireplace set an intimate ambiance.

Wood Paneled Passage

Tucked into a corner nook, an enticing library awaits with a shared double fireplace and bookshelves full of local memorabilia.

Pleasant Powder Room

Located just off of the foyer, a powder room conveniently serves the upstairs common areas.

Warm and Inviting

A modern mirror displayed over a sleek vanity, carves out the room's focal point, while an eclectic combination of art entertains the eye.

Wraparound Porch

Accessible from the central walkway, pergola and master bedroom, the wraparound porch draws those from within to gaze endlessly upon the surrounding landscape.
