Durable cedar lap siding, purchased in Port Haywood, Va., will age to a dusty gray. To ensure the structure’s stability, 4 x 4 surround posts were sunk into the earth and secured with cement. “I chose cedar siding because I wanted a very classic look with an ‘East Coast beach’ feel,” says Matt Blashaw.
