State of the Art

Front load washer and dryer are tucked into a wood storage unit that maximizes space and provides a flat countertop for quick and easy folding of laundry.

Storage Bench

A cushioned bench doubles as seating and storage in the carefully organized laundry room.

Reclaimed Wood Coat Rack

Weathered wood boards were upcycled to create a visually interesting hanging rack for added storage in the laundry room.

Ample Storage Options

“When you have an outdoor area and a hot tub you have stuff that needs a home, so these big banks of cabinetry in the laundry room could house anything needed outdoors,” says design coordinator Laurie March.

Quick and Easy

Laundry detergent is within reach and ready for use on the convenient built-in countertop.

Sliding Shelves

Drawers slide in and out of the storage cabinets for easier access to laundry essentials.

Clean Sweep

Cleaning supplies and towels are ready for use on the spacious built-in counter top.

Rolling Cart and Chute

An industrial rolling cart waits below the laundry chute to be rolled straight to the washing machine for minimal effort. “This year it was all about having a laundry chute that came from the master for convenience,” explains Laurie.

Utility Sink

A hardworking prep sink positioned in the corner of the laundry room can be utilized for washing up after tromping around outdoors.

Rugged Concrete Floor

A utility room separates the prep sink and the laundry chute. Concrete floors are extremely durable and can easily handle water and dirt.

Peg Board Storage

An adjustable pegboard holds all things necessary for outdoors. “It’s just really multifunctional,” Laurie. “You could switch from bathing suits and summer things to winter and put the pegs up a little higher for longer jackets and leave more room for boots.”

Mudroom Connection

This laundry room and mudroom hybrid lead right out to the back patio and hot tub. A stylish bench in the hallway provides the perfect place to sit and put on shoes before going outside.

Native Idahoans

The mountain bluebird and cutthroat trout, Idaho’s state bird and fish, are displayed near the mudroom entrance and bring hints of nature into this indoor-outdoor space.

Clever Pocket Door

A sliding pocket door separates the mudroom from the family room and features quality hardware with inset handles that pop out.

Tough Tile

“That area was tiled so that it was indestructible,” says Laurie. “Instead of installing wood in there we carried the tile out from the bathroom so that whole area has a spa feeling but it is also just really practical.”
