The Ultimate Party Patio

Designed to take advantage of the breathtaking views, this patio provides a central spot to gather and enjoy mountain living at its best.

Indoor + Outdoor Living

With the upstairs and downstairs grand rear windows, a near-seamless transition is made between indoor and outdoor spaces.

Local Flowers

With Idaho mountain style in mind, the landscaping boasts colorful lupins and other local plant life.

Lighting Design

As the sun sets, interior lighting illuminates the backyard, setting a relaxed ambiance for family and friends to gather on the patio.

Woof-Worthy Doggie Digs

The outdoor space wouldn’t be complete without a spot for a four legged family member; therefore the Doggy Blog Cabin was built in the same modern mountain style with a creatively designed roof line.

Perfect for Entertaining

The outdoor patio is ready for entertaining, with casual seating and a cozy fire pit. Glass doors invite guests into the backyard to enjoy a casual gathering.

Grab a Seat

Large local rocks were reimagined as benches for extra seating and serving s’mores.

All Decked Out

The master suite features a private deck with stunning views of the mountains. The two level deck outside the master suite is the perfect place to soak up Lake Coeur d'Alene.

A Million Dollar View

Through the trees breathtaking views of Lake Coeur D’Alene are the crowning feature of this home perched on a mountaintop.

Wow-Worthy Balcony

Just above the patio, a wrap-around deck is the perfect gathering spot for relaxing, cooking and dining.

Creative Fire Pit Design

"Around the area there is a lot of mining and concrete," explains Dylan. "These crusher cones are used to grind gravel." The design team salvaged a retired cone and repurposed it into the fire pit.

Upcycled Benches

Steel beams salvaged from the original home were reimagined into industrial benches, perfect for a cozy gathering with friends and family.

Local Stone

Idaho diamond, a locally-sourced stone used in this patio design, is incorporated into the interior and exterior design.

Pleasing Pathways

A stone pathway and stairs dot the landscape, leading from the front the house to the back of the home.

Flower Power

Delicate pink and white columbine add softness to the hardscape design.

Historic Hardscaping

The landscaping brought in burnt logs from a 1910 forest fire in the area, which adds a dramatic conversation piece.

Over the Bridge

During the Blog Cabin's People's Choice voting period, online voters selected a charming bridge for the waterfall feature.

Extra Party Space

An indoor game room is conveniently located right inside the glass garage door for extra party space.

Serene Waterfall Design

"Now that we have the opportunity to have a terrace landscape, why not make use of it with a waterfall feature," explains build and design manager Dylan Eastman.

Woodsy Features

Local alpine fir trees dot the landscape for a charming mountainous motif.

Soothing and Serene

"You're going to be hanging out on the pergola and patio," says Dylan. The sound of the waterfall provides a relaxing ambiance, engulfing guests in nature.

Mood-Setting Lighting

Landscape lighting highlights most of the major trees on property, while path lighting adds ambiance and is a safety feature.

Hangout Longer

"The fire pit extends the time you can spend outside," says Dylan.

Room With a View

A private deck in the master suite offers multiple vantage points for enjoying the scenery.

Another Fiery Feature

Just a short hike from the house, another fire pit area is ready for an intimate gathering. Cut tree stumps and a concrete crusher cone set the scene for a cozy evening.

Must-Have Bird House

Thoughtful details, like this custom bird house, invite feathery friends to enjoy Blog Cabin 2015.

Take a Walk

Perfect for a family with an active lifestyle, this mountain home is surrounded by gorgeous views and nature trails for walking and exploring.
