Hero shot

During the Blog Cabin's People Choice voting period, online voters selected this extra space to function as an office over a craft room. Warm walls, vintage design details, and custom accessories pull this designated work space together to evoke a feeling of style and comfort.

Desk with letterbox shelves

Rustic feeding troughs and a vintage mail caddy mounted to the wall provide nooks for stationary, books, and office supplies.

Wooden hat rack

A wall-mounted piece of driftwood for hanging scarves, hats, and coats, pays tribute to the home's location on Lake Hamilton.

Reclaimed letterbox shelves

The Blog Cabin and Mega Dens team refurbished treasures discovered in the original home. "We took an old mail sorter from the shed of the house, painted it, and mounted it on the wall to hold office supplies and stationary," says project manager Dylan Eastman.

Chris Grundy artwork

One-of-a-kind art is displayed for all to see. Blog Cabin host Chris Grundy adds a personal touch to the room with his own masterpiece. For this fun, DIY project, "we threw paint at Grundy while he held a canvas swinging on a tire swing," says Dylan.

Quicken loans mortgage

Nestled in the corner, a fiddle leaf fig adds natural beauty.

Reclaimed wood desk toward sunroom

Originally the Blog Cabin team was indecisive about the space. "Since it was part of the house and the roof line worked with the surrounding rooms, we decided to keep it," explains Dylan.

Vintage globe

Displayed as a classic library accessory, a vintage globe is a suitable addition to this rustic desktop.

Lamp on green metal cart

An end table is duplicated with a rustic rolling cart, providing a pop of color and rustic storage space.

Metal hexagon lamp

Vintage details and custom pieces are found throughout, to include this custom-designed lamp made from a metal biscuit cutter.

Succulent plants

Potted succulents are low-maintenance plants that accent the colors in the room.

Reclaimed wood drawing desk

The custom drafting desk was built with an adjusting hinge to add versatility. "You can angle the desk up to draw or flatten it out for computer work," explains Dylan. Apple crates function as clever desk drawers with vintage flare.
