A place to gather, play games, and enjoy a casual movie night, the family room boasts warm colors, clever storage and a fireplace focal point refinished with granite.
When designing the family, Mega Dens host and interior designer Anitra Mecadon, was inspired to create a 1920s, bootlegger bungalow vibe in a subtle way. "Anything you need to do as a family is incorporated into this space," says Anitra.
The family room location remained the same during Blog Cabin's renovation. Adding steel ceiling beams, a fresh coat of paint and bamboo flooring are among the updates that brought this space back to life.
The media wall is cladded in Ipe Brazilian hardwood. Since the natural red hues competed with the room's aesthetic, "we used black tea as primer, with steel wool and vinegar to bring it down to a brown color," explains project manager Dylan Eastman.
