Front Porch Floor Plan

Browse the as-is floor plan of 2014 DIY Network Blog Cabin before the renovation, starting on the front porch.

Front Porch As-Is

This year's DIY Network Blog Cabin 2014 was built in a downtown lot in Dundee, Fla., so it's a long and narrow home with the short side facing the street.

Living Room Floor Plan

When you come in through the front door, you're greeted by the main living space (8) with the original wood floors and trim details.

Living Room As-Is

Some of the windows have been replaced over the years to accomodate storm damage or to increase energy efficiency.

Dining Room Floor Plan

A cased opening peeks into the dining room (6).

Dining Room As-Is

Between the two rooms, a square, cast-iron grate in the floor vents heat from the furnace.

Breakfast Nook Floor Plan

A double-traffic door leads to the breakfast nook (4) right off the dining room.

Breakfast Nook As-Is

In the breakfast nook, built-in seats and a flip-down table make the most of a small space.

Kitchen Floor Plan

In the kitchen (2), the countertops and appliances have been updated within the past three decades.

Kitchen As-Is

Two interesting characteristics from the home's history still exist in the kitchen: a vintage ice chest and a fold-down ironing board.

Rear Porch Floor Plan

Onto the rear porch (1), there is quite a bit of water and termite damage.

Rear Porch As-Is

This room was probably an add-on, so it's going to be removed prior to the house move to make way for brand-new additions.

Master Bedroom Floor Plan

There is an odd array of off-angle walls and doors that lead to the master bedroom (3), bathroom (5) and second bedroom (7).

Master Bedroom As-Is

An existing iron bed and wooden dresser still exist in the master bedroom, which will be relocated in the renovation.

Bathroom Floor Plan

The home's only existing bathroom (5) currently sits between the master bedroom (3) and second bedroom (7).

Bathroom As-Is

The bathroom features a small casement window above the vanity, a medicine cabinet and a corner shower stall.

Bedroom Floor Plan

The second bedroom (7) has four doorways and two windows, which doesn't leave much wall space.

Bedroom As-Is

The second bedroom does, however, feature a single French door that leads to the sunroom.

Sunroom Floor Plan

Past the second bedroom (7), there is an amazing sunroom (9) full of windows and existing wicker furniture. Unfortunately, there is similar damage to the rear porch (1).

Sunroom As-Is

Because of the brick columns and wall construction style, this was likely an original porch converted to an enclosed sunroom later.

Widow's Walk Floor Plan

Upstairs, there is a simple open room called the widow's walk (1).

Widow's Walk As-Is

Here, there are more windows than wall space, letting in light from every direction. These windows will be key at the new location, especially when admiring the lake.

Widow's Walk As-Is

The stairs have a unique handrail, and the walls and ceiling are covered in beadboard.

Widow's Walk As-Is

Evidence of water and hurricane damage are all around, but this house has certainly stood the test of time considering its age.
